Paris 2024: Show director reveals plans for spectacular Opening Ceremony
400 dancers to perform in one-of-a-kind show
Le Pladec promises 'a ceremony that will be remembered for years to come'
The show director for the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony has revealed plans for a spectacular event that will feature 400 dancers performing in one-of-a-kind costumes.
Colombe Leclercq, who is also the artistic director of the Paris Opera Ballet, said the ceremony will be "a celebration of French culture and creativity."
In an interview with the Guardian, Leclercq said the ceremony will be "a journey through the history of Paris, from its humble beginnings to its status as one of the world's most iconic cities."
She added: "We want to show the world the best of Paris, and we want to do it in a way that is both visually stunning and emotionally resonant."
The ceremony will take place on July 26, 2024, at the Stade de France. It will be the first time that the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games has been held in the heart of a city.
Le Pladec said she is "confident" that the ceremony will be "a memorable and inspiring event" that will "leave a lasting impression on the world."
