NASCAR to Race on Chicago's Streets in 2023
Chicago Street Course to Host Inaugural Event
Race to Take Place on 22-Mile Circuit
Chicago, IL - NASCAR will make its second appearance in the Windy City on July 2, 2023, for a race on a new street course in downtown Chicago. The event, which will be the first NASCAR race held on city streets, will feature a 22-mile circuit that will take drivers past iconic landmarks such as Wrigley Field and Buckingham Fountain.
The race, which is scheduled to be 150 laps, will be the first major sporting event to be held on the streets of Chicago since the Chicago Marathon moved to Grant Park in 2003. The event is expected to draw a large crowd and generate a significant economic impact for the city.
"We are excited to bring NASCAR to the streets of Chicago," said Steve O'Donnell, NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing development officer. "This is a unique opportunity to showcase our sport in one of the most iconic cities in the world."
