College Football Playoff Picks After Week 3

College Football Playoff Picks After Week 3

Ohio State Continues to Dominate While Alabama Falters

Week 3 of the college football season saw some major shakeups in the College Football Playoff picture.

Ohio State continued its dominant start to the season with a 49-21 win over Toledo. The Buckeyes' offense was once again in high gear, led by quarterback C.J. Stroud, who threw for 361 yards and five touchdowns.

Alabama, on the other hand, suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Texas A&M 41-38. The Crimson Tide were uncharacteristically sloppy, committing three turnovers and allowing the Aggies to score 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.

Other Contenders Make Their Case

While Ohio State and Alabama remain the top two teams in the country, several other contenders made their case for a spot in the College Football Playoff with impressive wins in Week 3.

Georgia routed South Carolina 48-7, behind a dominant performance from its defense. The Bulldogs held the Gamecocks to just 103 yards of total offense.

Michigan also remained undefeated with a 34-3 win over Connecticut. The Wolverines' defense was once again stout, holding the Huskies to just 152 yards of offense.

Week 4 Matchups to Watch

Week 4 of the college football season features several key matchups that could have a major impact on the College Football Playoff picture.

Ohio State travels to Wisconsin in a battle of two undefeated teams. The Badgers have one of the best defenses in the country, so it will be a major test for the Buckeyes' offense.

Alabama will look to rebound from its loss to Texas A&M when it hosts Mercer. The Crimson Tide should be able to handle the FCS opponent, but they will need to show that they have fixed the mistakes that led to their loss last week.

Georgia will host Kent State in another game that they should win easily. However, the Bulldogs will need to be careful not to overlook the Golden Flashes, who have already upset one Power Five team this season.

Michigan will travel to Rutgers in a game that is unlikely to be competitive. The Wolverines should be able to roll to an easy victory and improve to 4-0.

College Football Playoff Predictions

Based on what we have seen through the first three weeks of the college football season, here are my predictions for the College Football Playoff:

  1. Ohio State
  2. Georgia
  3. Alabama
  4. Michigan

These four teams have all looked impressive through the first three weeks of the season and I believe that they are the best teams in the country.
