Thats Amazing Altuve Ejected After Taking Off Shoe To Protest Call

'That's amazing' - Altuve ejected after taking off shoe to protest call

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve was ejected from Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Angels after taking off his shoe to protest a called third strike.

The incident occurred in the bottom of the third inning with the Astros trailing 2-0. Altuve took a 1-2 curveball from Angels starter Patrick Sandoval that was called a strike by home plate umpire Laz Diaz. Altuve immediately began arguing with Diaz, and after a brief discussion, he took off his right shoe and threw it towards the mound.

Diaz immediately ejected Altuve, who was visibly upset as he left the field. Manager Dusty Baker came out to argue with Diaz, but the ejection was upheld. Altuve is now expected to face a suspension from Major League Baseball.

This is not the first time Altuve has been ejected for arguing with an umpire. In 2019, he was ejected from a game against the Chicago Cubs after arguing with home plate umpire Joe West. Altuve is known for his fiery personality, and he has a history of showing his emotions on the field.

The Astros went on to lose the game 5-2, and they are now 1-3 on the season. Altuve's ejection is a big blow to the team, as he is one of their best players. It will be interesting to see how the Astros respond to his absence.
